In the new trailer for Yellowstone, Kevin Costner takes on more than he can handle.

The fifth season of the critically acclaimed Western series Yellowstone Season 5 has a new trailer out on Paramount Network. John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, is the patriarch of a wealthy family that struggles to maintain control in the United States.

What does the Yellowstone season 5 trailer bring?

The new teaser begins with John’s inauguration as Governor of Montana when he swears to defend the state from any and all threats, both foreign and domestic. In Season 4, John ran for office maliciously to sabotage his foster son Jamie’s career.  However, John’s choices as Governor will make the Dutton family an even easier target than they already were due to the fact that he has previous experience just managing a ranch.

According to the preview, the first thing John does when he becomes Governor is to dismiss everyone who has ever worked there. Then he promotes Beth (Kelly Reilly), his own daughter, to the position of Chief of Staff.

What is the scene with Kevin Costner?

John informs us in the trailer that he has a deep affection for the state of Montana but that he would reign for his family at whatever cost. Even John’s obstinacy may not be enough to halt the storm this time. His decisions may have unintended consequences for his loved ones.

Yellowstone, directed by Taylor Sheridan, has consistently been Paramount’s highest-grossing film ever since its premiere. So it’s no surprise that Paramount asked Sheridan to create three spinoff shows.

The original Dutton family’s journey to the West is chronicled in this prequel series as they establish the ranch that plays a role in the events of modern-day Yellowstone season 5. As another was introduced in 1923, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, a viewing of the film will be a must-see this coming December.

Who is the cast in Yellowstone Season 5?

In Season 5, Mo Brings Plenty, Wendy Moniz, Jen Landon, and Kathryn Kelly joined the ranks of series regulars alongside the previously established cast members of Yellowstone: Red Silverstein be back for the next season, but so will Josh Lucas as a young John Dutton. The all-star cast is completed with the additions of Kai Caster and Dawn Olivieri.

On November 13, Paramount Network will show the first two episodes of Yellowstone Season 5. From then on, fresh episodes will drop every Sunday. Labor Day weekend (September 2-5) will include a whole Duttons series marathon, the family’s exploits over the last several years.
